Mission statement The Cayuga County Arts Council, Inc. is a
comprehensive service organization which enables and assists art,
cultural and civic endeavors and promotes and supports a
partnership with community development while educating, serving and
enriching the community at large. Membership and Structure
The membership of the Cayuga County Arts Council is made up of a
diverse group of community members, both artists and people who
support the arts and the many projects of the organization. The
Arts Council is led by a Board of Directors, elected by the
membership. Each board member serves a maximum of two consecutive
three year terms. The Board meets once each month to hear reports
and oversee the various committees, and to handle general Board
business. The projects of the Cayuga County Arts Council are
handled by committees. Each committee is made up of general Arts
Council members, and chaired by a board member. The committees are
as follows: Special events, Membership, Nominating, Personnel
Finance & Executive. STANDING COMMITTEES (Meets and conducts
business on a regular basis) EXECUTIVE Consists of Officers of the
Board of Directors, meets on an as needed basis. Chaired by
President. PERSONNEL Develops and oversees personnel policy
procedure, drafts job descriptions, conducts evaluations, screens
applicants, regularly reports and makes recommendations to the
Board of Directors. NOMINATING Seeks applicants and screens
applications for Board of Directors vacancies, nominates officers
for election at annual meeting, develops roles, objectives and
policies, seeks applicants and screens applications for Schine
Theater Restoration and Operation Advisory Panel members, works
cooperatively with other Committees to coordinate activities and
regularly reports and makes recommendations to the Board of
Directors . FINANCE Develops organization budget, oversees and
prepares for audits, prepares and submits financial information for
grants, monitors donations and grant income, oversees expenditures,
prepares monthly financial reports, works cooperatively with other
Committees to coordinate activities and regularly reports and makes
recommendations to the Board of Directors MEMBERSHIP Recruits
members, monitors and maintains a membership data base, renews
expiring memberships, explores expanded membership benefits,
develop and coordinate membership drive. Responsible for membership
mailings and notices. Works cooperatively with other Committees to
coordinate activities and regularly reports and makes
recommendations to the Board of Directors AD HOC COMMITTEES
